Monday

So monday was the first orientation day we had, and the start of the official week. it was good, ppl got their duties whcih are suppose to be done after breakfast dishes. i have supper dishes and im the leader! haha. the only bad part about that is that you have to do the grease trap...which is soooo disgusting! but im thinking of teaching the new kids to do it and so that would be nice to have them do it instead :p haha. in the morning we had games..really random games done by our own jeremy(hes a tico here) and it was fun and we are split up into 3 different groups...we have group A which is the 1st sem kids, group B which is the spanish speakers, and group C which is the 2nd sem kids, so im in that one. while the newbies were going over the handbook we were talking to steven in the office about trips and what not and it took all of 5 min, we also got our pics taken..o joy...lol and than we had the rest of the morning off :) woohoo!

me,kiley,kate and steph sat outside in the middle of the soccer field and tanned! :) it was nice!! i def enjoyed it! jose was in the hammock and he was cold...even though it was hot but than he was in the shade.

jayda and ethan took a turn in the hammocks, we have one on top of the other so its really cool

gotta love being 2nd sem kids and not having to worry about doing much :) later we had tom and he gave us a book that we were gonna do so i have to start readnig it as we have to be up to page 11 by tomrow...lol. the rest of the afternoon was free after that and i just chilled. after supper and dishes, we had the doctrines of christ class and that was until 9 ish, than we had an awesome worship time until 10(quiet hr). the amount of ppl we have that can play guitar,piano and sing and just sound amazing together is awesome. we are gonna have some sweet worship times :)

but that is monday, what a lovely day. were thinking of trying to have worship or someone give there testiomonys differnet days of the week so that would be cool! lol. cheers! :)

Weekend of the Newbies!

So this weekend the "newbies" came. woohoo! the girl from australia came on thurs evening. her name is Gen. she is awesome. on friday we had cody(2nd sem from bolivia), ben(arkansa),evans(indiana) and christoph(germany). On sat we had most of the rest of the ppl arrive. and than sunday a few others came and than we have one girl coming tonight. ya lol
so we went up to cosechas(smoothie place), pops(ice cream place), megasuper, and the bank multiple times this weekend to show the new kids where everything is that is close by and what not. we also showed some the coffee areas like kaffa and heavens place which are super good coffee places!. in the evening on the first night(sat) we played games and had smores and popcorn! it was soo good!! and than on sun night we played more games and had some costa rican typical food! :) we also had one huge massage train!! lol felt soo good!! lol. everyone is pretty awesome, we have about 15 new pppl and 15 returning approx! and the guy and girl ratio is also pretty close!! we only have like 3 more girls than guys lol. and ya this sem should be intresting...but ya some of the guys are amazing at playing guitar,piano and what not! we are gonna have some awesome worship times here :) for the rest of the sat and sun though we just chilled and talked, got to know each other and what so ya it was a good weekend! first official week started today so here it goes!! cheers :)

First ``unofficial`` week.

So yesterday was the 2nd dayy at Portantorchas. It was good. we are still getting ready for the new kids and we did team building exercises. lets just say they got physical... :P haha it was a good thing we liked each other cause we were close in some very akward looking posistions lol. in the morning we had a study and worship was super awesome. ive missed worshipping in spanish!! and alba shared what god has been teaching her the last 2 months. the day before yesterday, dont know if i put it in but we shared about our holidays and how they were, what god taught us etc...stuff like that. it was nice to get catched up on each other`s lives. but i managed to find a workout to train me for a 10k in 6 weeks. so hopefully i can do it!! and the food is amaznig as ever, i love the rice here, its soo good. i have never tasted any rice so good in my life. but the beans r a differnt story :p i went to bed early last night because this morning me and becca started doing core exercises :) lol should help me with my running according to the website. my stomach hurts and my legs a tiny bit. but it should be good especially now that i have someone to do it with :)so today was a good day, we talked about service and did some service work aroudn the campus, cleaning it up and what not. we also prayed some for the new kids, did chores, and planned for this weekend coming up!! woohoo! it should be good. a girl from australia is coming tonight!! and im super stoked to meet her!! i love australian accents! lol. tomorow is friday and the start of the first weekend :) i prolly wont write until mon morning or something as i will have the weekend together in one post. more or less it has been a pretty chill relaxed week and gettting ready for the newbies!! we have pretty much 15 old and 15 new ppl here and there from everywehre!! peru,korea,austaralia,honduras,usa,canada,costa rica, germany....ya its def a huge culture stuff this sem which is awesome!! im glad its like this. and we have a lott more boys...thanks goodness....not for the reason your prolly thinking im happy for it but im happy because it will just be better matched i guess, more variety! lol. well thats so far, and i didnt really have any pics from this week so hopefully i can get some good ones from this weekend! cheers :)

Last Day at Adri's and First at Portantorchas! :)

So on the day before we left for Portantorchas at Adri`s house, it was just a chill, relaxing dayy. didn`t do an overload of stuff, just hung out and what not so that was fun! went to school the next day!! :) and so far the only ppl here r the girls and jeremy...the other boys r coming later today. It was really nice to see everyone and catch up with my friends from last sem :) so the girls this sem get the tower and the casita...im in the tower!! wooohoooo! 2nd floor and were gonna have a party up in there. in there its me, jayda, kiley, rebecca, kattia and this new girl named glenda(whos from honduras!!) and than on the 3rd floor its adri,katie, and kate and a new girl named geneive(dunno how to spell her name but shes from australia!!) and than theres the guys in the dorms and esquina. we got a jam packed dayy today, so it should be fun. im excited to see the guys!! jose,ethan are coming today and cody is coming on friday. this morning I went for a run and it was really nice, i only did 4 laps however i have figured out a runnning plan. since i only have 7 weeks to train for a 10k on the beach...well i figure if i increase by 5 laps everyweek i should be good to go! so....i hope i have discipline to do it and eat properly despite the costa rican food being sooo good! but thats where i stand right now. here are some pics from the `tower area`.

so the first pic is of the san jose area, we have a great view all around! the 2nd one is of our campus, i like it because you can see the track and the soccer field! the next 2 pics are of the 2nd floor. we have a very nice space and we have a balcony which means we can have balconynitas(dunno if thats how you spell it but its where we sleep outside on the balcony) since the guys got the tower last sem, well we somehow managed to get it this sem and so now they started it so we can continue with it! ya, im super excited. its gonna be a killer sem. we have 15 ish guys all together which is huge compared to last sem. 4 r returning and the rest r new new ones! amazing haha. and for the girls we have 17 all together and 6 new ones. so a lot of 2nd sem girls. well thats all for now! cheers! :)

Flight and First Offical Day in Costa Rica! :)

So my flight to Costa Rica took all day...we left around 6:22 and didnt get to San Jose until close to 7:30. Luckily I had Jaydaa with me and so it wasnt overlly bad! It was really good to get to know each other better and get closer, so it was a very nice trip despite being looonnngg. Here are pics of me and jayda in the one of the airports and plane!

and the first flight was awful! soo much turbulance. i have been on many flights but there has never been one that was that bad! it was constant and there was a really bad one at the begginning where everyone went up in their seats and than kinda got flung back and forth. the 2nd one was super long and just over 5 hours but me and jayda got the emergency exit seats so there was a bit more leg room!!

well the flight was finally over and than we only had to wait about half an hr for adri, gotta love tico time!! lol. we went to her house which by the wayy is amazing and soo pretty! me and jaydaa sleep in her room. today was my first official day in CR and it was muy bonita!(gotta love spanglish :))
and than we went to this beautiful waterfall place and saw waterfalls and animals!! it was really pretty! and i got to hold a toucan :) it was soo sweet! the weather was gorgeous, blue sky and not overlly hot but soo nice and sunny! and i didnt get burned :) yay!! my goal this sem is not to get burned at all!! so far so good, but than i have only been here one day! after we went back to her place and than went to church! that was fun, still dont understand much of the sermon or what not but its still sweet to be immersed in a spanish church! i love it! and than we went out to the food court at one of the many malls and had supper there. than were back at her house and plannning on watching soul surfer!! im super stoked as ive always wanted to see that movie! here are some pics from the dayy.

Costa Rica Take 2

Well it's official, the start of a new semester is happening now! I'm leaving the country at 6:22 my flight is suppose to take off! so, lucky me I get to get up at 4:00-4:10 ish woohoo. luckily we have a hotel close to the airport so that will make it nice! i cant belive how fast it came, honestly I kinda wanted it to go slower. I was in Cranbrook for the 2 months that I had inbetween and I loved it there. So many ppl and some great times! I love it there and I'm stoked to hopefully come back in the summer sometime! One thing I love about this hotel is the shampoo and conditioner!! yes i know thats chessy, but its a pretty good smell, for hotel stuff anyways! lol. citrus flavor :) I drove the 5 ish hours here wiht my dad, my mom couldnt come because she has school to attend and work to do and so just me and my dad! it was nice though to get to spend some time with him as he was gone all week. yesterday evening I went to Rebecca and Emilys house and hung out with my closest friends that I have in Cranbrook. They are awesome ,I love them!! and we have plans to skype...so hopefully it happens! This sem with my blog ima gonna try and use pictures as well as writiing. see how it goes, so bear with me if it sucks!! lol.

So theres me with my last official ice cap before I leave, as they dont have this amazing amazing thing in CR so can't get more canadian than that!! ice cap in the snow in front of Timmy's!! woohoo! I love it, and for supper I had a poutine...had to go somewhat canadian. well im off, gotta get up early! ill prolly update when I arrive in CR. cheers! P.S. despite it being freeezing cold out there...well I'm gonna miss the snow!!!! but estas bien, Costa Rica here I come!!! :D
